As the name implies, XL Ties Chicago was created to provide a place where, primarily, Big and Tall men could come to purchase the highest quality, longest and most fashionable silk neckties available…not a combination usually found when shopping for extra long ties.

The company was born out of frustration while living in San Antonio, TX. While shopping for a designer necktie for a job interview, I became disheartened by the selections offered by the 2 “big and tall” stores in San Antonio.
Having struck out locally, I drove over 3 hours (one way) to the larger city of Houston to find something suitable (both to my taste, and size,) only to be disappointed again.
On the long, disappointing ride home, it dawned on me: “why didn’t I just go to xlties.com to shop for an extra long tie? I could have saved myself a lot of time.” So, the first thing I did when I got back home was go to www.xlties.com only to realize that there was no listing for www.xlties.com. |
Frustration levels reaching new heights I kept saying to myself, “I can’t believe there’s no site that sells extra long silk neckties.” The reality is, there were a few sites that sold extra long ties, but the ones that did, had styles that even my fashionably challenged University professor wouldn’t consider wearing…you know the guy I’m talking about.
So, being a man of action, I decided to do something about it, bought the www.xlties.com domain that night, and began researching what it would take to bring fashion to the masses…no pun intended.
Today, I am extremely proud to say that XL Ties Chicago does exactly what I set out to do: we sell the highest quality, longest and most fashionable designer extra long neckties available…and, yes, we sell standard length ties, at no extra cost. After all, my father and brother need ties too. |
